Twelve Apostles

Part of the awe inspiring scenery of the Great Ocean Road, the Twelve Apostles are only 8km's from Kangaroobie.  Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge, the Arch and the Grotto are all within a 20 minute drive along the coast

Warrnambool

Every Year between May and October, Southern Right Whales visit this seaside town to calve.  Other attractions include the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum, Tower Hill (a Volcanic Crater) and Lake Pertobe Adventure Park

Otway National Park

The spectacular waterfalls and rainforest of the Otway National Park are a short drive from Kangaroobie.  A visit to the beautiful glow worms at Melba Gully is a must.  Guided tours and a student program--'Kidzone' are available at the Cape Otway Lighthouse

Cape Otway Lightstation

Built in 1848, the oldest surviving lighthouse on the Australian mainland is now open to the public.  Climb up the lighthouse, visit the original lighthouse keepers quarters or the historic Signal Station.  An educational program known as 'Kidzone' is available for school groups and gives a fantastic days entertainment and learning for students.  Guides are available to lead groups around the complex and describe historical details of life and hardships at the lighthouse

Flagstaff Hill MaritimeMuseum

A reconstructed maritime village that recreates life in a seaside town during the 1800's with many displays and buildings of the era.  Home to the beautiful Loch Ard Peacock--a porcelain sculpture salvaged from a shipwreck in 1878 and now on permanent display

Tower Hill

Kangaroos, emus and koalas abound in this volcanic crater that now provides a home to wildlife and a large range of waterbirds.  Aboriginal interpretation is available at Tower Hill through the Worn Gundidj cooperative.  Staff can guide students on a range of topics including Music and Language, Traditional Games, Hunting and Gathering or Traditional Dance.  A beautiful and interesting spot to visit.

The Otway Fly--Perched high in the rainforest tree tops of Victoria's Otway Ranges the Otway Fly provides a unique walk within the Canopy of the exquisitely beautiful beech myrtle forest.
